Bohemia-online

"Bohemia-online" is a joint project of the Collegium Carolinum and the Bavarian National Library and was accepted as a member of the sponsoring program of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation, DFG).

The goal of the project is to make the journal available via open access so that it can be more easily accessed by readers as well as authors and thus make it more attractive. It is our express wish to make the offer cost-free to all users. As a first step, the volumes released since 1960 will be digitalized and made available online. For the time being, only certain parts of the newly released journals will be available online: On the one hand book reviews, conference proceedings and summaries will be made available immediately, essays, on the other hand, will be protected by a “moving wall“ of two years. However, in the near future a full scope open access is planned.

Bohemia-online is our answer to the changed research and reading habits in the humanities. Additionally, we would like to contribute towards establishing online publishing and creating high-quality and scientifically-oriented internet platforms, which provide texts on a reliable, long-term basis. Bohemia-online will improve the presence of the journal in international debates. Readers too will profit from the online availability of the journal: The user platform will offer differentiated search options and assorted service functions. Furthermore, an extensive integration with other platforms (e.g. recensio.net) and library catalogs is in preparation.
